27/12/2004 - The 2nd deputy Prime Minister, and Minister of Industry and Energy in Qatar State, Abdullah Ben Hamid al Atteiah escorted by his accompanying delegation and the Governor of Libya to OPEC conducted a visit to the Industrial Complex of Mileta, the Western Libya Gas Project.
The Secretary of the Administrative Committee of Eni Gas Company, Eng. Fuad al Krekeshi welcomed the Qatari Minister of Industry and Energy and his accompanying delegation.
He pointed out that Libya attaches a major interest in the development, manufacturing and exploitation of natural gas projects.
He indicated that Western libya Gas Project includes developing land and off shore explorations, targeting meeting domestic market needs of natural gas and exporting the surplus of gas, oil and condensates.
The manager of Industrial Complex of Mileta presented full explanation to the Qatari Minister about the Complex and its units and future targets, productive energy and exportation figures.
Then, 2nd deputy Prime Minister, the Minister of Industry and Energy in State of Qatar and his accompanying delegation toured the project and the important units.
The Minister also visited the complex of Repsol Oil and Gas Company in Zawia Shabya (Municipality) which includes six tanks of 300 thousand barrels of oil which are transferred to Zawia oil refinery and exported.
Then, the Qatari minister visited Zawia Oil Refinery and he was briefed by the supervisors of this huge achievement which includes two refinery units with a productive capacity of 60,000 barrels each.
